Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that serves results. Midland Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those form searches. A message sent to us contains the details in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Information
Our host may create routine logs such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We use aggregated information to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
County, state, archive, library, and sponsored-result links lead to independently operated services. Their own policies control information submitted after leaving Midland Residents Directory, including information entered in a third-party search result.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and support providers can process the limited log data needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for operational purposes. Since the reference has no visitor accounts, it does not maintain a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information so it can be deleted.
Texas Privacy Choices
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texas residents rights concerning personal data processed by covered private controllers, subject to its exemptions. Because we keep little information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and operational logs. Send a request through the Contact page. The Act does not control removal of government records held by Midland, Midland County, or Texas custodians; those requests belong with the agency holding the record and may be governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code chapter 552, or a specific confidentiality law.
Policy Changes
We may revise this policy by posting the revised version here. Continued use after a posted revision means that the updated policy applies.
